Why Placement Below Bed Height Saves Lives
Ceiling placement is wrong
CO is close to the density of air and doesn't race to the ceiling like smoke. In the still air of a sleeping bedroom it settles and concentrates in the lower third of the room — right at your breathing zone. A ceiling detector may not alarm until CO is already dangerous at mattress height.
